Hang something from the loop and read the scale. It's marked to 500g on the left and 20oz on the right, so you get the figure in whichever unit you think in.
That matters when you're shopping, because our weights are sold in ounces. Once you know the number that feels right, you can order it directly instead of working up to it by trial and error.
Hang Whatever You're Curious About
A water bottle, a weight you already own, or anything else around the house. If it fits on the loop and it's under 20oz, the gauge will tell you what it weighs.
Honestly, most people won't need this. A water bottle is already a decent scale, since one ounce of water is almost exactly one ounce of weight. The gauge is for when you'd rather use something other than a bottle, or you want the exact figure before ordering.
