Everything in The Starter Kit: five demo P-tainers with grippers, tension gauge, collapsible water bottle with carabiner and the Plastic Tugging Ring

1What's in the box

  • 5 Demo P-tainers in every diameter we make: 8, 10, 12, 14 and 16. Each one is labelled with its size.
  • 5 Stiff Silicone Grippers, one already fitted to each P-tainer.
  • Tension Gauge that reads to 500g / 20oz.
  • Collapsible Water Bottle with a carabiner, so water becomes your weight.
  • Plastic Tugging Ring that screws into the end of any P-tainer.

2Find your size

This is the fit you're looking for

The P-tainer should cover about half your glans or less, with the notch lined up to your frenulum.

Try a few sizes on until you find the one that sits like the photo. If it covers more than half, try a size down. If it perches on the tip and won't stay seated, try a size up.

Wash everything first. Hand wash each P-tainer and gripper with dish soap and warm water, then dry completely. Make sure your skin is clean and dry too. Oils and moisture are the top cause of slipping.

3Put it on

1Your gripper comes already fitted on its P-tainer. Flip it up out of the way, with the dots and line facing out.

Loose skin pushed up over the body of the P-tainer

2Set the P-tainer on your glans with the notch to your frenulum. Grab your shaft at the base with a finger and thumb and push your skin up over the body of the P-tainer as far as is comfortable.

3Flip the gripper down over your skin to hold it in place.

Skin adjusted evenly up to the raised line on the gripper

4Pinch the gripper and pull any extra skin down so it sits evenly at the raised line, all the way around. No bunching.

If it pinches, there's likely too much skin tucked under the gripper. Pull it down evenly to the line.

4Wear it all day

Once you've picked your size, your goal for the next few days is simple:

  • Practice putting it on until it feels easy and the skin sits right at the line every time.
  • Pee through it. No need to take it off, see the tips below.
  • Wear it all day and pay attention to how it feels. Any discomfort, take a break, readjust, and reach out to us if it keeps happening.

Peeing through your P-tainer
  1. Unscrew any weight or accessory first.
  2. Hold the knob so it can't drop, and pull the P-tainer away from your body slightly before you start.
  3. Keep a gentle tug on it to steer the stream.
  4. Shake gently, then dab your skin and gripper dry so it keeps its grip.

Mix and match grippers. Every gripper in the kit fits every P-tainer, so you can try a smaller gripper for a tighter hold or a bigger one for a looser fit. For the best comfort, though, the gripper size should match the P-tainer size. Count the dots to know a gripper's size.

Take it easy. Nothing should ever hurt, go numb or change color. If it does, take it off and give yourself a break.

5Find your weight

1Fill the bottle about half way and hang it from the tension gauge. About 8oz is a good place to start.

2Screw the Plastic Tugging Ring into the knob end of the P-tainer you're wearing.

3Clip the bottle's carabiner through the ring, let it hang and feel the tug.

Add or pour out water to feel different amounts of weight, and weigh it on the gauge each time. Whatever feels comfortable for long stretches is your starting weight.

The bottle is for testing, not all-day wear. Use it to try how much weight is your favorite, then replace it with a stainless Pocket Rocket weight for all-day wear.

6Try soft grippers

Soft silicone gripper

Your kit comes with stiff grippers, which give the strongest hold. Once you know your size, our Soft Silicone Grippers are another thing worth trying.

  • Stretchy and softer, so they're gentler on your skin.
  • Maximum comfort for long days of wear.
  • Great for just retaining or lighter weights, under about 12oz.
Choose one size down from your stiff gripper. Soft grippers are very stretchy, so going a size smaller gives you a secure grip. Wear a size 12 stiff gripper? Get a size 10 soft.

7What's next

Found your size and weight? The demo pieces are made for short-term testing, so it's time for the real thing. Everything below screws onto the same threaded end.

Not sure about length? Everything in the Starter Kit is standard length (+0mm), which is what most people wear. If none of the five holds enough skin, length is probably the missing piece. Take the P-tainer Length Quiz or try the Extended Demo Pack.
